Welcome to Defend Democracy, a brand new slow biking protest group resisting autocracy, concentrations of power, and supporting democracy, separations of power. We meet because autocracy is on the rise in the United States, in Europe, and around the world, and is fueled in part by the unchecked tremendous power of tech billionaires.
Join us for our next event Monday 14 July. We will begin bike rides from Museumplein 21, Amsterdam, at 16:00 ; 17:00 ; and 18:00. Please join for as long or as short as you like. We bike slowly on public bike paths with signs showing our values. We bike single file. We do not disrupt any traffic, have megaphones, yell, or stop biking. We keep biking and enter into peoples' real life 'scrolls'. We bike through parks, on small and big streets, through cities. Our goal for now as we start out is for many people to see us, to get people to think about concentrations of power in the world today. Check out facebook!
